Hi neighbor! Thanks for being in community with us. We're excited about our South Philly Community Market coming up on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Passyunk Community Center! Here's what you should know.
What Is the South Philly Community Market?
Formerly known as SPAC's Mutual Aid Market, the South Philly Community Market is a space where neighbors and South Philly organizations can build community, learn new skills, share resources, and spend time together. All skills, services, and resources offered are low- or no-cost, and the event is free with no registration required.
You may offer to teach a skill, facilitate a group activity, host an event, or provide a service, whether at the market or at a later date, time, and location. Past examples include a bagel-making class, a craft circle, a community potluck, and garment mending. Anything that enriches all our lives via shared expertise and/or resources is welcome at the community market.
All we ask is that, if you offer something, you be able to commit to it and that it's available on an ongoing basis. After all, community is about commitment to your neighbors! On that note, a small offering is okay, especially since what seems small to you might feel big to someone else.
Fill out our registration form to provide an offering, even if you can't make it on March 28. You can still offer it at a future South Philly Community Market!
As the cost of your offering goes, no-cost is ideal, but if it's important that you be reimbursed for necessary supplies, a low-cost offering is okay. Community means that we support each other, and we acknowledge that this may sometimes involve funding someone's ability to share a skill or resource.

Why Are We Raising Funds? What Is Comradery, Our Fundraising Platform?
At South Philly Action Coalition (SPAC), we buy lots of supplies for flyering, tabling, community-building trainings, and other initiatives. That's where your support comes into play! When you support SPAC with a monthly donation via Comradery, you fund our ability to purchase supplies and support our neighbors.
We've chosen Comradery as our fundraising platform very intentionally. It's designed for activists, workers, and independent creators seeking to connect with their audiences, and we love that it's a worker cooperative that's owned and controlled equally by all the entities using the platform, including us!
