howdy folks! episode 4, the beginning of SEASON ONE, is out! sorry for the day-late post, i basically released this publicly yesterday and then took the entire rest of the day off because i spent the prior three days writing nearly 10,000 words of my novel and needed A Break. i'm very happy to say that at least 4600 of those words are good enough to make it to the second draft (the other 5400 being a necessary blood sacrifice on the altar of Figuring Shit Out), which is a much better ratio than usual. not to immediately derail this post to talk about fiction writing, but part of the whole point of doing LTAS was to create more space for me to guiltlessly work my personal projects. considering this is the first substantial work i've put into the novel since January, i'd say it's performing that role perfectly.
okay, some notes on season 1. i've decided that from now on i'm gonna release new LTAS eps on friday instead of saturday. i could lie and say this is a metrics-based strategy to increase viewership or whatever, but it's mostly because of a weekly social ritual that has been more interrupted by release-day requirements than i originally expected.
also, the five episodes released in october will all be horror-themed. i'm doing this in part because, you know, it's october, obviously it's gotta be horror. but also, as my friendgroup's yearly october horror marathon where watch a movie a day the entire month approaches, i must admit that i just don't have the energy for a vlog series like i've done for the last couple years. the marathon itself is even being handled by my partner and others this year, that's how much the last one left me burnt out. i may end up doing some kind of post-mortem, or just cover the specific titles i liked the most, but anything more than that just isn't in the cards i'm afraid. giving LTAS a horror flavor feels like a good compromise position.
is that it? i think that's it. i've been going through some of my old video scripts to assess bonus content possibilities, and hilariously enough i immediately found one that i might try to make for public consumption. we'll see how the fates react to my efforts on that front lmao
anyway, thanks for your support and for watching the new show! i've loved all the comments and feel great about this direction overall. see you next week!
