Join us in the next chapter of Comradery! The beta update brings new features, a smoother user experience, and instant approval for many folks interested in becoming Creators.
Comradery has been up and running in its Alpha with a select group of Creators since 2021. We are online artists, organizers, workers, cooperatives and digital creators who need to free ourselves of the exploitation of big venture-capital backed tech content platforms. Our mission as Comradery is to build a part of that future that creators cooperatively own and democratically control. Over the last couple of years, we have been hard at work building features, creating a bulletproof web platform, and gradually inviting new Creators and Cooperatives into our organization.
This week we’re very proud to announce that we are finally entering our Beta! We’ve been collecting payments from supporters for over two years, and during our Alpha era we have had a perfect record of collecting and remitting payments and delivering them to our Creators and Cooperatives. This is a better track record than the big players over the same timeframe.
Based on this track record, we’re confident in the stability and core experience of Comradery and we are finally opening up the platform to more Creators! As of this week, when you apply to become a Creator on Comradery, most applications will be approved instantly and automatically and you can start building your project page right away! As of today, instant approval includes creators based in the USA who create mostly not-18+ work, and we are working towards including international and 18+/NSFW Creators in the near future. As always, Comradery is for independent creators as well as formal and informal cooperatives that own and create their work democratically.
We’ve also launched a major new feature— free email newsletters! You can enable the option for your supporters to subscribe to your email newsletter for free, and there is an overhauled and improved account creation process to support that. You also have no limit on the number of free email subscribers. Having an email newsletter for your Projects is the most direct way to stay in touch with your supporters, and we’re excited to enable that option for Creators. We're going to be unveiling other new and exciting features in the coming months, and if you’ve already applied to be a Creator we are rapidly sending out invitations. If you’ve been on the fence, we hope you’re interested enough to give Comradery a try!
