I have a fun update for everyone following the progress of Girlboss at Hog Night: I've been accepted into a residency at the Dyke+ ArtHaus here in Philly, where I will be working on the next draft of this piece! Four days of uninterrupted work, plus a small public reading at the end of it. What more could I ask for?
I've wanted to work at the Dyke+ ArtHaus since I met the founder, Juno, a few years ago. Juno has a beautiful house in West Philly that she has opened up to dyke (and dyke-adjacent) artists and community. The first floor is an open community library, and the third floor is the studio space. Selfishly, I can't wait to dig into the library for supplemental resources while I plug away at this thing.
I previously participated in a community ceramic tile project for the front steps and porch of the house, and I can't wait to return! I'll be there over Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4th - 7th, with the reading at a TBD time on the 7th. Hope to see you there!
