Greetings, Sunshines!
Evel here and golly I have been out of commission awhile! For the past six months I have been getting brain zaps, dizziness, confusion, ect from all sensations: sound, movement, light, stress, patterns, whatever! So, two days from opening vector design commissions, instead I was out two weeks with an eye mask on all day and night trying to recover. A few months of adapting and figuring things out, I got the Boox Palma Pro 2, a sort of phone-shaped tablet, on credit. And here we are a few months even later and I am working on figuring out what digital access I do and don't have.
In that vein, I have done some posts with various amounts of help from the collective over on my assistance dog's patreon! Check them out, they are supur cute!

With help I was also able to make my first post on my personal site that, at least my part of it, was created entirely on my tablet! Read it and see the list of essentialish dog things!

I also dug out my old crochet things and have been crocheting up a storm of different things! So far I have finished designs for dish scrubbers and hyperbolic bath poufs.

(Image description: A photo of a stack of three bath poufs on green grass and moss. One of the poufs is maroon-colored, another bright orange, and the last cyan.)
We also have designed a sort of sketchbook! It is a small bound book of tracing paper. I needed one for animation sketching and this is just not a thing that exists yet, so we designed one ourselves! Luckily, throughout the years we've had 100000 hobbies and interests, so we had almost all of the materials to make this!
Of course I had to make a new branch of Aldercone for these, and in celebration of my sparky brain and love of dogs, Sparky Craft Works was born! I am in the process of designing the logo, which is taking awhile due to non-digital art being much harder on my body, but it has been very fun working on it!

(Image description: A photograph of the Sparky Craft Works logo with initial line work done: It is a cartoony dog skull with flower eyes, a lightning bolt down its snoot, and a heart heart and moon drawn on the top of the skull. The lower jaw has a spider web on it. Wrapping the lower part of the skull is the name with lightning bolts between the words)
All this and more coming to our Mastodon account soon(tm)!
Cassowary and Phoenix have been hard at work with the Director's Cut of Creature Feature: The TTRPG. This is an expanded version of the game, still like the one-page but many, many more pages! This edition is an upgrade that will be included free to everyone who has already owns Creature Feature, and will provide enough info and context even folks who are completely new to TTRPGs (and to people who aren't obsessive movie watchers) will be able to play, including two pre-made scenarios to play!
You should pick it up here, if you haven't yet!

Most of the work is done but there's still some writing to do, plus play testing, beta reading, page layout, etc. We are shooting for a Winter 2026/2027 release!
We have also been working on a trailer for it. Shhh its super secret do not tell anyone. Here's a sneaky preview!

Turns out we are all part writers in our hearts! Phoenix is working on a neo-noir piece, I am working on a supernatural kids series and a comedy series about a married couple balancing family life and their careers as professional hitmen, and Cassowary has been building on a future scifi hacker travel/adventure series. Of course we work together closely, and all our work is greatly influenced and helped by each other.
We are hoping to post at least excerpts here for you, our Sunshines, to read! It probably won't be on a super regular schedule, as we're all very disabled, but yah! That's coming soon!
As I said before, I am working on making physical art! It has been a investment in tools, like a blue lead pencil, and a lot of time. It's not as accessible for me as digital _was_, because past sketching I can't complete a piece from my hammock. But here's a little thing I did to test out my process!

(Image description: Photo of a sketch that depicts a monster-y shark in profile, in a sort of pastel eldritch style. It has four eyes and three fins. It is predominently purples, blues and pinks. It looks kinda grumpy)
Cas is working on art cards! Aren't they rad!

(Image description: Photo of a set of art cards, all are abstract drawings composed of non-intersecting shapes that depict various subjects: birds, faces in profile, strange animals)
Our physical art is available through our Mastodon account now! Check it out: https://mastodon.art/@aldercone/116699092840894462
